Corneal transplantation, also known as corneal grafting, is a surgical procedure where a damaged or diseased cornea is replaced by donated corneal tissue. At Chandra Eye Care, Varanasi has been successful in starting his own Eye Bank and performing keratoplasty (Corneal Transplantation). Dr. Chandra himself motivates people to donate their eyes so that two blind people can see this beautiful world.

Latest Techniques of DALK, DSEK, and DMEK are being performed. Chandra Eye Care is one of a few Centres in Uttar Pradesh, India where Descmet’s Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty is being done on a regular basis in which only the DM and endothelial cells are transplanted.

Glaucoma is a condition that causes irreversible vision loss typically due to high pressure in the eye. It is among the top three causes of blindness in India. Unfortunately, people do not notice any change in vision until the condition is in the advanced stages, which is why glaucoma is often referred to as a silent thief of vision. Regular comprehensive eye checkups are the only way to fight glaucoma vision loss. If the pressures are not controlled by medication surgical intervention is the final resort.
